How long do the dogs get to stay out of their cage?

Each dog/family is taken out for a potty break & outside playtime 2 - 3 times a day for about 15 minutes each time.  First potty break is around 7am and last potty break is around 6pm.  If you choose to have them in the doggie daycare, they will be in the play room from 9am to 5pm with Holidays and weekends being an exception.  In the playroom numerous potty breaks and outside playtime are taken randomly throughout the day.     

If my dog does not like other dogs, can they stay?

Yes, they can stay.  They will not be able to be in the playcare, but will still get to go outside 2 - 3 times for about 15 minutes each time.  You can also bring their favorite toy (ball, frisbe) for us to play with outside.

Why do we need to have proof of heartworm and flea prevention?

We want your dogs to come in happy and healthy and go home the same way.  We do not want any fleas and the only way to ensure of that is to make sure everyone has had their monthly treatment. 

Heartworm prevention prevents intestinal worms from infesting our outside play areas.  Even though we pick up after each and every pet, there is still a chance of infestation if not on heartworm prevention which deworms them every month. 

What should we bring with us?

Most important thing to bring is the pets diet.  We want to make sure everyone eats and keep dietary discomfort to a minimum. 

Make sure they have a collar that can remain on them for their entire stay (no harnesses please, these are uncomfortable to play or sleep in). 

Make sure we have your current vaccine, flea, and heartworm records from your vet prior to visit.  You can call and request it to be faxed to us 912-445-5130. 

Driver's Licence and Military ID (if you are military). 

If someone else will be picking up your pet please request a Third Party Pick up Permission Form at check in. 

Local Contact Person to pick up your pet in case of an emergency.  Must be able to do so before closing on day of contact.

You can bring personal items (beds, blanket, toys, etc.)  Please try to keep it to a minimum.  We are not responsible for any damage that may occur.  Chew bones are good to give them something to do, instead of chewing up their bed!   

Why do we have to get a bordetella injection every 6 months.

The bordetella injection is a 1 year vaccine. 

They have had trouble controling the amount of outbreaks in kennel cough when it was done only once a year. 

Since changing it to twice a year the outbreaks are almost none existant. 

This is for the saftey of your pet, we do not want anyone to become sick.  Most Vets and boarding facilities in the area are now requiring this.

This is a precaution that we are taking because at our facility the dogs are playing and interacting all the time.

What happens if my dog becomes ill or injured while staying at Animal Kingdom?

First, we will try to contact you and inform you of the situation. 

If we feel that immediate attention is needed we will transport your pet to Cedar Animal Hospital for care.  A Veterinary Authorization Form will need to be filled out to ensure treatment can be given in an emergency.

What is Playcare?

Dogs are placed in size appropriate groups so that they can safely play with one another. 

Dogs are monitored at all times.

They can play outside or in our inside playroom.  This depends on the weather outside. 

Dogs can not be in playcare if we feel they are not suited.   

Please keep in mind that dogs do play with their teeth and feet and at times they can also play very rough with one another.  So, there is always a chance for injury no matter how closely they are monitored.  Mostly consisting of scratches or scrapes.
