Our Commitment: Animal Kingdom Pet Resort commits to provide a clean, safe, fun, friendly, and interactive environment for your pet. All staff commit to maintaining premises that are sanitary and properly enclosed. All pets in our care will be fed properly, exercised properly and will be housed in clean, safe quarters at all times. Our daycare groups and private play will be properly staffed and monitored at all times to ensure safe play. Our knowledgeable staff takes pride in providing exceptional care to you and your pets to create a wonderful, worry-free experience for all.
Your Commitment: We ask, from you the owner, to read all of the following information and follow all guidelines to help us maintain our exceptional level of service and care.
All pets should be on a leash at all times when entering and exiting the facility and while on our property. We strongly advise against the use of retractable leashes in these circumstances and ask that your pet remain under your control and no further than 6 feet from your side at all times.
All pets must be wearing a collar that can remain on them for their stay with us. All harnesses and training items will be removed after they are escorted to daycare or their suite and placed in their personal cubby.
Owners are responsible for their pet’s behavior in the lobby and outside of our facility. Please do not allow your dog to meet or jump on another dog or person, as pet may be excited, nervous or anxious at this time and may react abnormally. Please keep your pet under your control to ensure the safety and comfort of other dogs and people in the lobby. Do not allow pets to jump on or scratch at doors, walls or desk. Dogs are expected to sit and wait until staff is able to take them to the daycare or boarding area. AKPR works with your dogs during daycare and boarding on these manners, please reinforce the same manners in your presence to achieve success. Please refrain from opening a door too soon and remain calm as to not create separation anxiety or unwanted behaviors in your pet at pick up.
Evaluations are required for all new dogs and those who have not been for a visit with us in over 12 months. Evaluations are reserved with a non-refundable payment of $25 and appointments are available Monday through Friday. Drop off is between 7am-9am and pick up is between 3pm-5pm. This gives a chance for the dogs to get to know us, our facility and our routine. If testing for daycare, they will get time to get acclimated with the play group and find the best fit for them. If participating in private play, they will get time to get acclimated with staff and find the best fit for entertaining them. All evaluations will have time in our suites to get acclimated and comfortable. Staff are constantly evaluating all dogs for any issues with aggression, severe anxiety, severe fearfulness, destruction, excessive barking or any other behaviors that are not a fit for our facility. A report card as well as verbal explanation of their evaluation will be given as feedback to help relieve any concerns. All modifications to evaluation appointments, must be done prior to 24 hours of reserved date and must be rescheduled at time of modification.
All pets must be in good general health and AKPR will be informed of any medical conditions. Pet has not been exposed to any contagious diseases within a 30-day period prior to check-in. If at any point pet is exposed or shows signs of communicable disease owner agrees to hold pet out of attending AKPR, until receiving veterinary clearance. Please note puppies, anxious pets and older pets can be exposed to a great deal of stress due to removal from their normal home environment, this can compromise the immune system resulting in illness. AKPR may require special arrangements to help these pets and ask that owners take all precautions necessary to alleviate any added stress.
In the event medical attention is required, AKPR will make all efforts to contact the owners regarding any treatments, illness, injury or potential problems. Staff and owner will agree on treatment or action necessary. If contact can not be made or injury is deemed an emergency, we reserve the right to appropriately treat or seek veterinary treatment for the pet at the owners expense.
Vaccine records, heartworm prevention, flea prevention and all information given about pet is accurate and true. Heartworm and Flea prevention has been given prior to check in and pet will be sufficiently covered through check out. If fleas or worms are found, treatment will be required immediately, at owners expense.
AKPR does not accept dogs who are feral, aggressive or who have had aggression issues in their history. Aggressive can best be described as an unprovoked attempt to cause harm to any person or dog. This puts staff, clients and other dogs in danger. Severe fearfulness or severe anxiety can turn aggressive/defensive in an unfamiliar place or a loud and busy environment such as a boarding facility. We do not discriminate against breeds, but will evaluate ALL dogs carefully to ensure everyones safety. AKPR reserves the right to deny services to any pet that is deemed not a good fit for our facility.
Reservations are required for all services. Owner agrees to pay the rate, for boarding or daycare, in effect the date the pet is checked in and for all days reserved. Owner agrees to pay for all costs and charges for any special services rendered and all veterinary costs for the pet during the time pet is in the care of AKPR.
Daycare reservations are held with a non-refundable payment of each day reserved. Daycare packages are non-refundable and are paid in full at time of purchase. All daycare modifications must be done prior to 24 hours of reserved date and must be rescheduled at time of modification. All Daycare packages expire one month after purchase.
Boarding Reservations that are NOT during holiday or peak season, are held with a non-refundable one night stay and all modifications or cancellations must be done prior to 24 hours of reserved check in date. The remaining amount due will be paid the morning of check in and will be applied to the card on file. There will be no credit or refund for early checkout or late check in as we will be unable to rebook your pets’ room. We will review special circumstances at our discretion. For cancellations with 24 hours notice, deposit will remain as a credit on your account with us.
Boarding Reservations during holiday or peak season are held with a non-refundable deposit of half of the stay. AKPR is extremely busy during any holiday and peak season. We suggest you make your reservations as early as possible to guarantee an open suite. We can not hold a suite that is not reserved with a deposit. Any cancellation will forfeit deposit and may incur charges of remaining balance for all days reserved. Please call with any cancellation or modifications as soon as possible and staff will review special circumstances at our discretion. During holidays we have limited office hours and that may affect the day and/or time you may drop off and pick up your pet. Please verify holiday office hours with AKPR staff.
Check in for evaluations and daycare is between 7am-9am and check out is between 3pm-5pm. All pets should be picked up prior to 5:00pm. We are unable to open doors after hours for pick up. Please see below for procedures for pets not picked up prior to 5pm.
Check in for boarding is between 1pm-5pm and check out is between 7am-11am. Appointments for early check in or late check out are available upon request but are subject to availability . Please make sure to schedule with us as soon as possible, a $15 fee ($20 holiday or peak season) will apply. Unscheduled early or late arrivals are subject to availability and a $20 fee ($25 holiday or peak season) will apply.
Doors are not permitted to be opened after hours for pick up, so please plan accordingly and have a back up plan in case of an emergencies. If unable to be picked up prior to closing, pet will be boarded for the night in one of our overnight care suites. AKPR will feed food on hand in kennel (unless supplied by owner previously) and supplied with a comforter to sleep comfortably for the night. Owner agrees to pay for all costs of feeding and boarding of pet.
Food, treats and Medications are supplied by owner for all overnight care. Each meal must be pre-packaged in ziplock bags and have the pets name written on it. Any food that is not pre-packaged will ensure a charge for bags and time used by employees to package the food. We do not accept large bags of food, food bins, bowls, etc. Medication must be in original container with visible label containing pets name and medication name. Written instructions must be provided to AKPR on the check in paperwork at the time of check in.
All multi-pet families requesting to be boarded and fed together are done so at owners risk. Staff reserves the right to separate any pets deemed a risk to each other and full rate will apply to all pets. Any pet needing to be fed separately or be supervised while eating will need to be boarded separately. Family suites are available for those that like to be boarded together but need separate arrangements for feeding time. Access doors on family suites allow pets to share their suites with each other while allowing staff the ability to close as needed separating each into their own suite.
Personal belongings brought from home are asked to be kept to a minimum. We do not allow beds to be brought from home. Comforters are provided in all suites, but a Kuranda Bed can be added to your pets suite for $5/night for those wanting additional padding. One blanket, one chew bone and one toy are permitted per dog during overnight care. Please make sure that these are items that are safe for your pet to have while unsupervised and they are not likely to ingest unsafe items during their stay. Belongings should be brought in a small bag labeled with pets name to alleviate any confusion with staff. At pick up all remaining items will be placed in your bag and returned to you. Staff will make every effort to return all items brought but are not responsible for any items lost or destroyed during stay. Please do not send items that are valuable or sentimental.
Grooming and Complimentary baths must be reserved at the time of your reservation or no later than the day of drop off. We offer baths, nail trims, pedicures, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, full service bath/brush outs, and full service grooming for those needing a trim or shave. All items are completed on or a day prior to departure. Our complimentary bath is offered to pets that have stayed a minimum of 3 nights in overnight care with us. This is a complimentary bath and time may not permit for all dogs to be bathed on departure date. Staff reserves the right to deny a complimentary bath due to, but not limited to, size, hair condition and behavior during bath. If you would like your pet to be bathed in a particular shampoo, brushed out, trimmed or any other additional services, grooming services will need to be requested.
Daycare attendance is based on appropriate behavior. Dogs do play with their teeth, nails and other body parts that can cause scratches, cuts and sores. Dogs can play rough and no matter how closely they are watched accidents can happen and dogs can get hurt. Most of the time medical attention is not required. In the event medical attention is required, please see above for procedure. AKPR reserves the right to excuse any pet from our play groups that is deemed not a good fit for the facility. In the event that a dog displays aggressive behavior the dog will be removed from the daycare. The owner will be notified of the event and any injuries to or caused by the pet. This includes behavior directed at the staff and any damages done to the facility. Owner is financially responsible for any and all types of damage by said pet. Future attendance will be reviewed on a case by case basis prior to return.
Our first priority is the safety, health and well-being of all of our guests. Every staff member is trained to recognize inappropriate body language and behavior to help minimize negative interaction, but dogs can be unpredictable. Dogs can have bad days or become annoyed and display undesirable behaviors during group play. Dogs are not left unattended and staff takes proactive measures in order to prevent issues and create a safe interactive environment. Please notify us of any changes noticed in your pets behavior as soon as possible to keep staff well informed.
All remaining balances shall be paid in full at check in at the latest. Any additional charges incurred during the stay shall be made payable with a credit card on file prior to pick up of pet. Every customer must have a credit card on file, which will be charged in the event additional charges are incurred while the pet is in our care and for balances owed after the time of check out. Any balances, after cancellation fees are applied, will remain as a credit on your account for future services.
Evaluations and Daycare days can be modified with a call or email no later than 24 hours prior to your reserved date. We will reschedule at this time and no penalty will be applied. If you are a no show, do not reschedule or do not call in time, you will forfeit that day.
Overnight care NOT over holiday or peak season can be cancelled or modified with a call or email no later than 24 hours prior to your reserved check in date. Deposits will be kept as a credit on your account for future services. If you do not call in time, you will forfeit the one nights deposit. If you are a no show, you may be required to pay for all days reserved. We will review special circumstances at our discretion.
Overnight care over holiday and peak season requires a non-refundable deposit at the time of reservation. No credit or refund will be given for early check out or late check in, as we are unable to rebook your pets’ room with short notice.
